San Francisco Shopper Health and Safety Education Plan

Pursuant to San Francisco Health Officer Directive No. 2020-06, Shipt, is providing the following health and safety best practices and educational information:

  • Review applicable guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and the San Francisco Department of Public Health

  • Visit the Shipt Shopper Hub to access copies of Shipt’s Health and Safety Plan and Social Distancing Protocol.

  • If you are feeling sick, please stay home - don’t utilize the Shipt Shopper App to work in San Francisco (or elsewhere).

  • Wear face coverings at all times when performing work, waiting in line outside a store, shopping for items, interacting with customers, or making a delivery unless an exception applies.  Shoppers may obtain free face coverings at local Target stores.

  • Wash your hands or utilize hand sanitizer before and after each delivery, after sneezing, coughing, eating, drinking, using the restroom, or touching your hair or face, before picking food or items, and frequently while working.  Shipt is providing shoppers with free hand sanitizer.

  • Frequently sanitize all high-touch surfaces or equipment under your control (e.g., smartphone, interior vehicle surfaces), before and after you begin working and otherwise throughout the day.  Shipt is providing shoppers with free sanitizing wipes and working to source other potential disinfectant supplies.

  • Maintain at least six-feet of distance from others, except when momentarily necessary to facilitate or accept payment and hand off items or goods.

  • Consider changing your clothes and/or shoes before or upon arriving home after performing work and clean such clothing before wearing again.

  • Try to refrain from touching or handling in-store items that you will not ultimately purchase as part of an order.

  • Please review and complete the daily health certification each day in which you intend to perform work in San Francisco.  You can also review a copy of this “Information for Personnel (Employees, Contractors, Volunteers) of Essential Business and Other Businesses Permitted To Operate During the Health Emergency” document here

  • Use your best efforts to comply with the Social Distancing Protocols and/or Health and Safety Plans of any retailers or businesses that you enter while working.  Among other things: (1) do not reach out in front of other customers or store employees; (2) wait for other customers or store employees to move out of the way before going to a shelf or area; (3) do not block people or otherwise fail to pay attention to your surroundings while looking at your smartphone.
